Is There a Bike Rack?

We hear it all the time: “I’m riding to Destination X. Is there a bike rack there?” When you’re riding somewhere with Bike Streets, you’re able to find out in advance.

If there’s a parking symbol, that means that there’s a bike rack there.

This draws from public data in OpenStreetMap, an open-source mapping project used by thousands of apps, researchers, and map enthusiasts. There are still a lot of missing racks in OSM. So we built the feature so anyone can add a rack through Bike Streets and have it go into OSM.

To add a rack, go to the Suggest tab and tap Add to Map.

From the list of Suggestion types, tap Parking.

Move the pin to the place where the new rack goes and tap Next.

Indicate what kind of rack it is and how many bikes can fit there.

For those of you who love a good scavenger hunt, you can tap Ride on the main screen, go on an adventure, and add as many missing bike racks as you like.
