Tollgate Creek Trail - Aurora, CO

Enjoy a delightful roll along Tollgate Creek from the historic DeLaney Community Farm to the Sand Creek Trail using the Low-Stress Denver Bike Map.

History

The Tollgate Creek Trail is one of Aurora’s newest trails. The new segment starts at the historic DeLaney Farm, which includes 158 acres of open space in the middle of the city, historic buildings that date back to 1866, and a modern garden overseen by Denver Urban Gardens. It runs all the way to the Sand Creek Trail.

The trail runs from the High Line Canal Trail at DeLaney Farm to the Sand Creek Trail at the Bluff Lake Nature Center.

Geography

The Tollgate Creek Trail runs from DeLaney Farm through the City Center North, Chambers Heights, Hoffman Heights, and Fitzsimmons neighborhoods in Aurora before reaching Sand Creek at Bluff Lake Nature Center.

Access to Other Trails

The Tollgate Creek Trail in Denver provides a great link to two key metro Denver trails: the High Line Canal Trail (at mile 55) and the Sand Creek Trail.

Riparian Ecosystem

The trail creates a rich riparian ecosystem which is great for enjoying native plants and birdwatching.
