Also a steep section near Stony Point Parkway. Keeping the gate open at Stony Crest Circle and adding a bollard would fix this connectivity issue.
Dan, totally agree. There’s also a gate on Creeks Crossing Blvd and at the end of Bittersweet Rd.
Is there someone we could talk to to request the bollard? I take this route with my kid to stony point but have to walk the steep trail/footpath.

This would involve working with the owners of the apartments, along with the residents getting on board and having a fair number of them pushing for this access. And definitely getting ahead of any misconceptions that opening this up would increase crime. It wouldn't, of course, but the vocal minority would dominate the conversation with that line. The owners of this complex are Creeks Edge Apartments LLC & Creeks Edge Investors LLC.
Above all, having the benefit of "walk or bike to Trader Joe's!" would be a boon for their marketing materials.
Do you know who owns/maintains the path? I’m down to email them, but don’t want to stir up trouble that would result in the path getting closed down. Hopefully that’s a very unlikely scenario
According to the city's parcel map, it looks like it crosses between land owned by the city (parks and rec) and the Sabot School. And the public right-of-way for Stony Point Road extends beyond Carriage Stone Court to the north end of the south-eastern most building in the apartment complex. The path becomes the apartment complex property when it widens at the access road and when it transitions into the dirt path that leads down to Stony Point Parkway.
