2,000 Miles for the Bike Streets Club = Progress

Bike Streets is built on two ideas. #1. biking around Denver is awesome and liberating – and everyone should be able to do it.

#2. If we all Ride the Same Streets, we’ll have strength in numbers, more people will feel comfortable riding, and the City will be motivated to invest big in bike infrastructure.

We need your help to make this case to the City.

That’s why the Bike Streets App now has a community miles feature. We’ve already ridden more than 2,000 miles, but we need more – lots more. To do it we need your help: join the club, get the app, and ride.

What’s the significance of 2,000 miles, other than it’s the distance from City Park to Yakutat, Alaska?

It means we’re making progress as a Club and as a community. Now imagine what our city will look like when the miles number is ten thousand, a hundred thousand, and beyond.

It’ll mean we have hundreds and then thousands of people who Ride the Same Streets, claim them as spaces for human-scale transportation, and make them more comfortable for even more people. This will be especially true for folks who’ve previously been left out when it comes to active transportation.

So join the Bike Streets Club and help us create this picture everywhere in Denver.
